TORONTO -- Jose Reyes was forced to leave Thursday night's game against the Rays because of soreness in the vicinity of his left rib cage.
Reyes had one at-bat in the first inning and grounded out to second. He sat down in the Blue Jays dugout and then slammed his helmet to the ground in frustration over his latest ailment.
The 31-year-old has been bothered by a left-oblique injury since his club's recent three-game series in Baltimore. Reyes had been wearing a special jacket underneath his uniform to provide additional support, but ultimately the discomfort became too much against Tampa Bay.
