TORONTO -- Jose Reyes has been cleared to resume baseball activities and it's possible that the veteran shortstop will be healthy enough to play when he's eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.
Reyes has been out since April 27 because of a cracked rib. He underwent another MRI on Thursday, and while the injury hasn't completely healed there has been enough progress to resume playing.
The 31-year-old fielded ground balls prior to Friday night's game against the Red Sox and Blue Jays manager John Gibbons said it's possible Reyes will be sent on a rehab assignment before next week's return.
