TORONTO - Nobody was expecting a third straight no-hit bid from Marco Estrada. I mean, let’s get real.
But, likewise, no one was expecting the normally unflappable Blue Jays righthander to come slightly unglued, either, but that’s what happened.
The bloom went quickly off the rose for Estrada Tuesday night, opening the door for the Boston Red Sox to grab a second-straight win over the Blue Jays, a 4-3 decision at Rogers Centre.
Coming off consecutive starts in which he took no-hitters into the eighth inning, throwing nearly 250 pitches in the process, it became clear from the beginning that this was not going to be a third special game in a row for Estrada.
