Red-hot Blue Jays rally to 5-4 win over Tigers

The Bringer of Rain was the bringer of pretty well everything on Thursday night.

Reigning AL MVP Josh Donaldson was a machine against the Detroit Tigers at the Rogers Centre, hitting a double, a single, while also reaching base via a walk, an error and was hit by a Shane Greene pitch in the sixth. He also made a beautiful catch on a Victor Martinez line drive in the eighth, denying the Tigers’ DH of almost a sure hit. Donaldson has now reached base safely in 39 of his last 40 games.

The Jays’ third baseman scored in the eighth inning from third when shortstop Troy Tulowitzki smacked a two-out single off reliever Alex Wilson to right, bringing home Donaldson from third and Michael Saunders from second and giving the Jays a 5-4 comeback victory over the Tigers for their sixth win a row.
