ARLINGTON - In Game 5 for all the marbles, the Texas Rangers will go with left-hander Cole Hamels.
Hamels was the Rangers Game 2 starter who ended with a no-decision in a game Texas won 6-4 in 14 innings. In the game, Hamels lasted seven innings where he allowed four runs on six hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven. The Jays will counter with Marcus Stroman.
In Hamels, Texas manager Jeff Banister believes he’s going with his best option.
“I like the fact that we’ve got a pretty special starter going for us also,” Banister said of Hamels.
