Knuckleballer R.A. Dickey got the start in Game 3, but with the Blue Jays in a must-win situation, he's likely on a short leash. That's when Price would enter as Toronto's big weapon out of the bullpen.
"I feel like he can probably run some innings and then we would be good late," Gibbons said of Price, who hasn't pitched out of the bullpen since 2010. "We have some guys down there we feel good about anyways, and they're all good."
Right-hander Marcus Stroman also is potentially available out of the bullpen, but he wouldn't enter the game before Price, as Gibbons has to walk the fine line of going all-in to win Game 4 but also making sure he has a starter available for a potential Game 5.
