TORONTO -- The first week of the Blue Jays' season did not go as expected, but the club received some good news on Tuesday afternoon when closer Roberto Osuna was activated from the 10-day disabled list.
Osuna missed the first six games of the season because of neck spasms. The same issue forced him out for most of Spring Training as well, but manager John Gibbons said he would not hesitate to use Osuna in save situations or on back-to-back days now that he has returned.
In a corresponding move, right-hander Casey Lawrence was optioned to Triple-A Buffalo to make room for Osuna on the 25-man roster.
