Blue Jays fans will never forget the powerhouse lineups that the club featured in the glory years.
WAMCO (Devon White, Roberto Alomar, Paul Molitor, Joe Carter and John Olerud) was a devastating attack, with Olerud, Molitor and Alomar finishing 1-2-3 in batting average (Olerud and George Brett are the only players since 1941 to take a .400 average into August). Former MVP Rickey Henderson, an eventual first-ballot Hall-of-Famer with a nearly 95% vote count — was a late-season addition as well.
As fearsome as that attack was though, this one might be even better. The best six hitters have 20 all-star appearances between them, a pair of home-run titles (Jose Bautista) six top-five finishes in MVP voting and 17 top-11 finishes.
