The Toronto Blue Jays have been busy approaching the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline, making a trade for outfielder Melvin Upton Jr. and then swapping relievers with the Mariners to get Joaquin Benoit for Drew Storen on Tuesday.
The Blue Jays are far from done, however, and remain active on the trade front looking at the thin starting-pitching market for rotational depth, according to GM Ross Atkins.
“We have contacted all 29 teams on several occasions and there are five to 10 teams we’re talking with on a regular basis and now it’s mostly focused on pitching," Atkins said, per the National Post.
