Matt Dominguez, Justin Smoak get opportunity at first base

Now that Chris Colabello is out of the Blue Jays' picture for at least 80 games, and possibly much longer than that, the landscape around first base has changed quite dramatically.

With Colabello serving a PED suspension, Matt Dominguez, who has been a third baseman his whole career, got his first start there on Wednesday facing Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Jose Quintana. Dominguez had faced Quintana 11 times and had five base hits against the lefty.

While Dominguez will definitely get a hard look at first base, this is also an opportunity for Justin Smoak to grab the position and run with it.
