BUFFALO - Toronto Blue Jays president Mark Shapiro is clearly following the path set by his predecessor when it comes to keeping his team's triple-A affiliate.
The Blue Jays and Buffalo Bisons first announced their partnership in the fall of 2012, prompting then-president Paul Beeston to say it should be extended by 40 years. On Thursday, prior to the Bisons home opener and two days after announcing a two-year extension through 2018, Shapiro indicated his desire to honour Beeston's quest.
"If I get a 40-year contract, I'm more than happy to sign it," a smiling Shapiro said.
