Beloved Toronto Blue Jays announcer Jerry Howarth is battling cancer.
But, thanks to early detection, the 70-year-old is on the road to recovery.
Howarth, the longtime voice of the Jays, went public with the prostate cancer diagnosis in an interview with CTV News published on the TV station's website on Wednesday.
The radio announcer told CTV he is grateful an MRI detected the disease in its early stages. Biopsies performed before the MRI did not find the small tumour, which is being removed next week.
