Embattled former big leaguer Lenny Dykstra claims he accumulated so much dirt on MLB umpires with the help of hired investigators that he manipulated them into bending the rules during the 1980s and 90s, insisting “their blood is just as red" as the ball players they officiate.
So red, even, that many umpires have vices too, Dykstra told Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd Tuesday afternoon.
“Some of them like women, some of them like men, some of them gamble, some of them do whatever,” Dykstra said.
A flabbergasted Cowherd pressed further.
“So you had (private investigators) tracking umpires through your career or just a few years?
