According to Fox Sports' Ken Rosenthal, Donaldson was "removed for precautionary reasons" after taking a knee to the head during a slide into second base in the sixth inning. Ezequiel Carrera came on as a pinch hitter before Cliff Pennington was inserted as Donaldson's replacement at third base.
