Jeopardy! bungles Blue Jays clue

It was the bat flip heard around the baseball world, an unforgettable moment in Blue Jays history.

But apparently it wasn’t all that memorable to the writers on the popular game show “Jeopardy!”

The signature home run and follow-up precocious flip of the bat by Jays slugger Jose Bautista was the subject of a clue on the show on Wednesday.

“Jose Bautista went north to become Joey Bats, author of an iconic 2016 bat flip for this team,” it read.

The question - “Who are the Toronto Blue Jays” - would be correct, except, of course, that the year for Bautista’s ALDS series clinching homer against the Texas Rangers was 2015.
