The Blue Jays braintrust is all in St. Petes this weekend and they’ll sit down as a group — GM Alex Anthopoulos and his staff, along with manager John Gibbons and his staff — Saturday morning to discuss the playoff roster. Even though the roster does not have to be set until 11 a.m. on Thursday, most of the decisions will likely be made at that meeting.
Some of the discussion will surround the size of the pitching staff. For the regular season, there are usually five starters and seven relievers. For a short playoff series, that can be pared down to four starters and six or seven relievers.
