BOSTON – It was the worst of times and the best of times Saturday for Roberto Osuna.
With his team’s playoff hopes hanging by a thread, Osuna stood horrified on the Fenway Park mound in the bottom of the eighth inning, having balked in the tying run.
It was his third blown save of the week for the young closer and it could have been the final nail in the Blue Jay coffin.
But when the Jays rallied to take the lead at 4-3 again in the top of the ninth on a sacrifice fly by Ezekiel Carrera, Osuna got an immediate chance at redemption.
