Jason Grilli 'has taken over the eighth' for the Blue Jays

It was almost as though the Blue Jays needed a stabilizing factor in the bullpen. They got that when Jason Grilli arrived in town.

Grilli, who was acquired on May 31 from the Atlanta Braves, has become the set-up man the team needed.

"Grilli has taken over the eighth inning which has been huge," manager John Gibbons said. "We've had trouble in the seventh and eighth inning, getting to (closer Roberto) Osuna, and he's been dynamite."

Gibbons also feels Grilli has picked up a staff that struggled early.

"They've all been pitching well," he said.
