Driver James Hinchcliffe has been released from the hospital following surgery for an upper left thigh and pelvic injury suffered in a practice crash leading up to the Indianapolis 500.
IndyCar announced Wednesday that Hinchcliffe was released the day before from IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
The 28-year-old Hinchcliffe of Toronto will continue his recovery at his home and is expected to make a full recovery. He has not been cleared by the IndyCar medical staff to resume competition.
Hinchcliffe was injured when his car made right-side contact with the Turn 3 SAFER Barrier during a May 18 practice session.
