TORONTO - It remains to be seen if the Minnesota Twins can hold off a field of strong contenders, including the Blue Jays, for a wild card berth in the 2015 playoffs. One thing is clear, though. If Minnesota doesn't make the postseason, it won't diminish the strides this franchise has made this season as it serves notice on the rest of the American League that it is very much for real.
In much the same way that the Kansas City Royals bided their time and built from within and now sit at the top of the AL Central, the Twins have drafted and developed an outstanding core of young players who are going to be a force for the next few seasons.
