DETROIT -- Blue Jays outfielder Teoscar Hernandez was forced to leave Saturday afternoon's game against the Tigers at Comerica Park in the bottom of the third inning because of a left foot contusion.
Hernandez fouled a ball off his foot during an at-bat in the top half of the frame. He initially remained in the game to finish his plate appearance, which ended with a fly ball to left field. He appeared to be noticably hobbled while running to first base and then limped off the field.
The 25-year-old Hernandez was replaced in left field by veteran Curtis Granderson in the bottom half of the third.
