TORONTO -- Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk was forced to leave Sunday afternoon's game against the Indians in the top of the fourth inning after a violent collision with an on-field security guard.
Grichuk was attempting to catch a foul ball down the right-field line when the dangerous incident occurred. He tried to make a sliding grab and was struck on the face with a metal chair that the security guard was holding as he attempted to get out of the way.
The impact caused Grichuk to remain on the ground for several minutes.
