Former San Diego Padres player and coach Tim Flannery severely criticized the franchise and its fans during a Twitter post late Wednesday night.
Flannery played 11 major-league seasons with the Padres and was a member of the franchise's 1984 World Series team. He later served on the team's coaching staff from 1996-2002 under manager Bruce Bochy and was fired by the Padres following the 2002 campaign.
Flannery, 58, finished his coaching career with the San Francisco Giants in 2014. Apparently, that time with the Giants led to increased tension between Flannery and the franchise and also with the club's fan base.
