For Royals, key to the big seventh was Hosmer taking second [Video]

KANSAS CITY - It’s the morning after Game 2 of the ALCS and by all accounts the Blue Jays are still the losers of Game 2 having melted down in spectacular fashion the night before.

The Jays entered the seventh leading 3-0 and exited down 5-3 thanks to five hits, four singles and a double.

However, in the minds of the Kansas City Royals, the big play of the inning was when first base coach Rusty Kuntz told Eric Hosmer to take off for second with the dangerous Kendrys Morales at the plate. It changed everything.

In Hosmer’s at-bat he singled in the first run of the inning and advanced Lorenzo Cain to third.
