A seven-game hit streak the past week has lifted Justin Upton’s AVG from below the Mendoza line up to .246, but there are still red flags all over the place. One is his already highly favourable .366 BABIP. The second is his 35% strikeout rate and a 2.5% walk rate. Since April 19, Upton has 20 K’s and zero walks and his season OBP sits only 21 points higher than his AVG.
