The family of the fan who fell to his death last year from an upper deck at Turner Field has claimed negligence in the lawsuit filed against the Atlanta Braves and Major League Baseball.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the family of 60-year-old Gregory Murrey filed the lawsuit Tuesday, accusing the defendants of disregarding fans’ safety by putting up a guard railing that is only 30 inches tall. The lawsuit said that height is 12 inches short of the industry standard.
“Had the rail been 42 inches, Mr. Murrey would not have fallen over the rail,” stated the complaint filed in Fulton County State Court.
