Nary a day goes by without someone with the Blue Jays being asked the future of Aaron Sanchez as a starter. On Sunday, it was general manager Ross Atkins' turn to face the questioning.
"Well, every day we're closer and every outing we're closer and as the deadline and alternatives come and go we're closer," said Atkins, when asked when (or if) Sanchez gets moved to the bullpen.
The Jays have long planned to have the 24-year-old right-hander move to the pen in an exercise at saving his young arm. The problem is Sanchez is having an all-star year in the rotation, putting together a 10-1 record with an ERA of 2.
