Even Dave Winfield would be pleased with Rogers Centre noise levels [Video]

It’s one of the great transformations in sport. Right up there with George Foreman changing from an angry, hostile, scary dude early in his heavyweight boxing career to the incredibly friendly and out-going media personality he is now.

Years ago, Blue Jays games were a place where rambunctiousness and noise went to die. The reserved nature of Jays crowds both at the old Exhibition Stadium and the early years of the SkyDome was a running joke.

During the Blue Jays’ 1992 World Series season, the club’s star outfielder Dave Winfield pleaded with Toronto fans to make noise.
