It wasn’t quite like leading lambs to the slaughter but it was close.
With a depleted lineup and facing Seattle’s Felix Hernandez, the odds of the Blue Jays winning Friday night’s game were slim and this night the odds were bang on.
Facing King Felix for the Jays was right-hander Marco Estrada.
Estrada has pitched valiantly since pressed into the rotation at the beginning of the month but a Hernandez-Estrada matchup is no match at all and the result was predictable — a 4-3 Mariners win.
The loss snapped the Jays win streak at one and was the club’s eighth loss in its past 10 games.
