Ejected Jose Bautista begins break early

KANSAS CITY - At a critical point in the bizarre baseball game Sunday, with the potential go-ahead run on first base with two out in the top of the eighth inning, Jose Bautista was ejected by plate ump Jerry Meals with the count at a ball and two strikes.

Bautista made a comment and Meals reacted immediately, tossing Bautista for the sixth time in his career. The most recent ejection had been on Aug. 24, 2014, versus Tampa Bay.

"I don't know why he threw me out. I'm shocked because what I said was not deserving of an ejection," said Bautista.
