While he doesn't always appear in the boxscore, utility infielder Darwin Barney is always in the game. That's his job.
"I'm part of this ball club," said Barney, whose pinch-hit double ignited a four-run ninth-inning, game-winning rally. "I'm just trying to help the team when my number is called. You build a routine when you're not playing every day and that routine is supposed to get you ready to go.
"For me, I try to relax and see the game play itself out and see where I might fit in. When I first started playing off the bench I was in the cage every inning and I was too amped up.
