Rob Manfred’s ‘Welcome to Toronto’ moment came on Friday afternoon as he made his way down towards the visiting team clubhouse at the Rogers Centre.
The MLB commissioner had just finished a Q&A session with some print media people on the infield before Game 2 of the ALDS and as he walked away, a dude in a Blue Jays shirt about four rows from the front started chiding Manfred about the MLB scheduling the first two Jays-Texas Rangers games early in the day.
Game 1 on Thursday began at 3:37 p.m. and Game 2 at 12:37 — a major inconvenience for fans who are supposed to work or go to school.
