Cleveland trolls Jays' Bautista with 'circumstances' tweet

“Circumstances” may be the new bat flip — on social media anyway.

The American League Championship Series got a bit awkward when the Cleveland Indians sent out a tweet with a photo featuring Andrew Miller, Cody Allen, Corey Kluber and Josh Tomlin accompanied by the word “circumstances.”

According to ESPN, this was in reference to Toronto Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista’s complaints that his team was mistreated in the first two games of the series. The Blue Jays managed to score just one run in the opening two games, both at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Bautista suggested that the Blue Jays were victims of “circumstances,“ seeming to imply that the umpires in the first two games in Cleveland were biased against Toronto’s hitters.
