BALTIMORE - Just to make sure his work wouldn't be interrupted by rain for a second day in a row, Troy Tulowitzki took batting practice in the early afternoon.
It marked the first time he has hit on the field since he suffered a small fracture to his left shoulder blade and bruised back muscles following a collision with Kevin Pillar in shallow centre field at Yankee Stadium on Sept. 12. Tulowitzki was scheduled to take part in regular batting practice Monday but some early rain limited him to three swings and he finished his workout in the batting cage under the stands.
