BOSTON -- The Blue Jays placed right-hander Mike Bolsinger on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday afternoon with inflammation in his left knee.
Bolsinger surrendered a walk-off homer to Hanley Ramirez during the 15th inning of Tuesday night's 5-4 loss to the Red Sox. Prior to the home run, he had tossed 3 1/3 scoreless innings with six strikeouts without allowing a hit or a walk.
Right-hander Cesar Valdez was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo to take Bolsinger's spot on the roster. Valdez was scheduled to start for Buffalo on Wednesday night but instead will provide protection for an overworked bullpen, with Roberto Osuna and Danny Barnes among those needing rest.
