Aaron Sanchez made his Astros debut versus the Seattle Mariners last night and made quite the impression on his new mates. Sanchez threw six shutout innings combining on a no-hitter with Will Harris, Joe Biagini, and Chris Devenski.
Sanchez changed speeds keeping Mariners hitters off balance with his curveball while throwing 92 pitches in his debut. The former Blue Jay struck out six and walked two before turning the ball over to Harris to pitch the seventh.
The 27-year-old lowered his earned run average from 6.07 to 5.76 following the strong outing and made a strong case for himself to remain in the rotation with Houston for the time being.
