According to Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic and MLB Network, the Blue Jays were to place their all-star third baseman Josh Donaldson on revocable trade waivers in the hopes of working out a deal with a contender. Unfortunately that looks like those hopes are all but washed away.
Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun that “multiple teams” have “definite interest” in acquiring the 2015 AL MVP, while Jon Heyman of Fancred notes that scouts were in attendance for Donaldson’s first rehab game in Florida. Tuesday night, Donaldson went 1-for-2 with a walk and played five innings for the High-A Dunedin Blue Jays.
