Blue Jays' Thole thrilled to be back in fold

ANAHEIM - Not everyone can catch a big-league knuckleball, but Josh Thole can. As a result, he’s back in the Blue Jays clubhouse to catch each of R.A. Dickey’s last nine starts, including Sunday’s 12-5 win over the Los Angeles Angels.

The Blue Jays had expected to get him back several weeks ago but an infected finger nixed that plan. He arrived in Anaheim Saturday night and infielder Matt Hague was optioned back to Buffalo.

Thole had been watching the Blue Jays juggernaut from afar, marvelling at the deadline additions.

“It was exciting but to be honest, we didn’t have any starters left in Buffalo,” said Thole.
