According to Shi Davidi of Sportsnet (and the official transactions page of the Triple-A International League), outfielder Socrates Brito has cleared waivers and has been assigned to Triple-A Buffalo.
Brito was designated for assignment on May 10 and unsurprisingly went unclaimed through waivers. This was Brito’s second time this season being designated for assignment.
Brito, 26, was originally signed as a free agent by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2010, proceeding to spend parts of the next eight seasons with the organization, slashing .202/.229/.351 in 175 big-league plate appearances.
Earlier this season, he was selected off waivers by the San Diego Padres and was traded to the Blue Jays for minor-league outfielder Rodrigo Orozco just days later.
