According to Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet, the Blue Jays have recalled pitcher Sean Reid-Foley from Triple-A Buffalo, optioning Jordan Romano to make room on the 25-man roster. Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun was among those to confirm the report minutes later.
Sportsnet’s Hazel Mae was the first to report that Reid-Foley had joined the team at Fenway Park early Sunday morning.
Reid-Foley, 23, hasn’t exactly pitched well this season with the Bisons, boasting a 5.87 ERA in 69.0 innings, striking out 77 and walking 51.
