The Blue Jays plucked Brock Stewart on waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers at the trade deadline and assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo. The hurler never made an appearance for the herd before being summoned back to the majors.
Stewart made three relief appearances for the Dodgers this season allowing eight earned runs in four innings of work. The 27-year old sports a 5.46 earned run average in 36 MLB appearances spread over four seasons.
Stewart will be the 33rd pitcher the Blue Jays have utilized when he takes the ball for manager Charlie Montoyo.
