Galvis “Drew Interest From 12 Teams”
Prior to signing with the Blue Jays earlier this week, shortstop Freddy Galvis had caught the eye of “about 12 teams” earlier this winter, reports Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet. George A. King III of the New York Post had previously reported that the Pittsburgh Pirates had “big interest in signing him”.
Galvis, 29, will earn $4 million in 2019 and could earn an additional $5.5 million if his 2020 club option is picked up. The option year comes with a $1 million buyout, so he’s guaranteed $5 million.
