TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays placed shortstop Troy Tulowitzki on the 15-day disabled list Saturday with a right quadriceps strain and activated left-hander Aaron Loup from the 15-day DL.
Tulowitzki missed two games this week and struggled Friday night against Boston. He struck out four times and made a throwing error in Toronto's 7-5 win over the Red Sox at Rogers Centre.
Tulowitzki said an MRI exam revealed a low-grade strain. He's eligible to return June 12.
The veteran shortstop was originally pencilled in to serve as a backup Saturday afternoon against the Red Sox.
