ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. - It's going to be a while before Blue Jays pitcher Gavin Floyd finds his groove as an experienced reliever, but even though his runners were the ones who came across the plate in the bottom of the eighth inning for the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, there was no shame in his performance.
Floyd came on in relief of J.A. Happ in the bottom of the seventh with a runner on first and nobody out. Floyd retired the first three men he faced, two on strikeouts.
In the eighth, Evan Longoria led off with a single.
