Rule 5 selection Elvis Luciano is set to rejoin the Blue Jays in the coming days after throwing a simulated game earlier yesterday. The hurler is rehabbing back from a right elbow sprain that has seen the teenager sidelined since the middle of June.
The 19-year old must be on the active roster for an additional 18 days to meet the required 90-day stipulation and become Blue Jay’s property. The Jays will then be afforded the opportunity to demote Luciano back to the minors for next season.
