Joe Biagini has been atrocious all season long no matter whether it be in a starting or relief role. The right-hander and his devilish 6.66 earned run average should be riding buses in the International League rather than occupying a roster spot on the big club.
Manager John Gibbons for whatever reason loves utilizing Biagini in clutch situations and yesterday was no different. The 28-year old entered a 3-3 ball game versus the Mariners and proceeded to serve up back to back homers to Nelson Cruz and Kyle Seager. The mistake pitch to Seager was an elevated curveball that came wrapped in a bow on a platter for the Mariners third baseman.
