The triple-A Bisons stayed hot with another excellent pitching performance from Canadian left-hander Scott Diamond. He allowed just one earned run, scattering eight hits over seven and two-thirds innings with two strikeouts and no walks. This lowers Diamond’s ERA to 2.39 on the season.
Ben Rowen and Pat McCoy recorded one out each before handing off to David Aardsma, who recorded his sixth save of the year with a scoreless ninth.
Jesus Montero found his power stroke again, launching his third home run of the season in the first inning. He also doubled as part of a 3-for-4 day with two runs and two RBIs.
