Buffalo scored once in the bottom of the first and zeroes followed as the two teams combined for just eight hits. A Ryan Goins solo home run, his second with the Bisons, was the difference. Dalton Pompey, Jesus Montero, and Casey Kotchman all singled but Buffalo didn’t work a single walk.
Scott Diamond was excellent, throwing eight shutout innings with just four hits allowed, striking out six and not issuing a walk. Dustin Antolin slid back into the closer’s role with Ryan Tepera in the majors, closing it out with a clean inning (S, 9).
