Buffalo managed just five hits as Gwinnett starter Robert Whalen had a very strong outing. Jose Bautista took three at-bats and played right-field, going 0-for-3. Chris Colabello was 1-for-4 with a strikeout and Ryan Goins walked once in four plate appearances.
Casey Lawrence actually gave the Bisons a great start, pitching seven innings of one-run ball on just four hits, the only run coming on a solo shot. Pat Venditte found the bulk of the trouble, allowing five to cross in just one and a third innings. Bobby Korecky handled the last two outs, allowing one more to cross on three hits.
