Much to everyone’s surprise and probably even his own Mike Hauschild appeared on the lineup card for last night’s games versus the Mariners. The 28-year old hurler was released by the Houston Astros on the weekend and had just finished the physical and signing of his contract with his new team before the start of the game.
Manager John Gibbons would then summons Hauschild from the bullpen to begin the second inning after starter Tyler Clippard had surrendered two runs in the first. Prior to last night, Hauschild had only made four appearances in the majors and they were not pretty surrendering five home runs in eight innings of work in 2017.
